The Metropolitan Block and Bismarck Hotel building, at the southwest corner of N. LaSalle and W. Randolph streets, was built in 1926 and features steel frame construction on rock caisson. Rapp & Rapp were the architects and Lieberman & Hein the engineers. The office portion is 22 stories high and the hotel 16 stories. Standing at the north end of the LaSalle Street canyon, the Metropolitan Block and Bismarck Hotel building is an icon in the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois, USA.
